Message from the Board of Trustees:

Al-Masry Foundation for Development and Education is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that has been officially registered under the Law Regulating the Practice of Civil Work No. 149 of 2019. It aims to be a significant and active part of the civil work system in our beloved Egypt.
Almasry strongly supports and complements the efforts of the Government- Civil Society- and CSR by extending a helping hand to women breadwinners and their families therefore supporting the most vulnerable members of society, striving to achieve comprehensive sustainable development through a gender lens, hence improving the living standards of underserved citizens.

Problem Statement:

In Egypt,36% of rural households headed by women face compounded challenges from extreme poverty due to gender discrimination, early marriage, domestic-violence, unequal access to essential services such as education & healthcare. Customs perpetuate gender discrimination, as women often assume multiple roles, including unpaid labor. Mental health stigma is a significant challenge for women in Egypt.
We address these challenges through a multifaceted approach, in order to empower vulnerable disadvantaged women & their families.

Our Mission:

Al-Masry Foundation for Development and Education is a non-profit civil organization that aims to empower community members, especially women and youth, and enhance their capabilities to obtain all rights, combat violence against women, integrate gender concepts into all programs of the foundation, build alliances, and strengthen the capacities of local, regional, and international partners through learning and gaining experiences to promote a culture of justice, equity, and the right to live with dignity.

Our Vision:

We strive to support, elevate, and improve the quality of health, educational, and economic services, combat violence against women, and integrate gender concepts to improve the lives of Egyptian citizens.

Our Goals:

• Supporting disadvantaged Egyptian women and youths in their families through a multi-layered approach targeting to improve their mental & physical health, raising awareness, providing education & training, economically empowering them, and socially supporting them to combat all forms of discrimination and violence.
• Providing effective models that can be replicated in debtor issues and supporting civil society to adopt them, especially women breadwinners.
• Improving and providing access to basic education and even kindergarten for the most marginalized groups.
• Connecting youth to the labor market and improving educational and training services for them.
• Promoting culture, inclusion, and diversity in Egyptian society.
